Spent the morning doing taxes – I’d done them 6 weeks ago in TurboTax but never got around to filing them, then found out that they wanted another $15 to actually file with TurboTax. That’s right – $20 for the software and then nearly as much again to get any real use out of it. (Sure, there’s a rebate included in the box, but c’mon, did I really have any chance at all of hanging onto that rebate form for 6 weeks?) H&R Block was (were?) far more helpful and sensible, thankfully. I would have had to find a pen and print out forms, otherwise. Shudder.
Went to work, got to install a new-old hard drive in the computer that records my data. Big relief, the old drive was within about 5% of completely full. The new drive will let me do experiments recording up to 18,000 spectra… woohoo!
Stayed way too late at work doing nothing particularly useful, and then it was snowing when I came home… Snowing. In mid-April. *sighs* The sun will come out, tomorrow, tomorrow…
