For those following along at home…

2c. shredded cabbage
3 strips bacon
half a medium white onion, chopped
4 medium carrots, sliced
1 small potato
1-1/2 c. frozen turnip greens
2/3 c. celery, diced
2 sm. yellow squash
4-1/2 tbsp orzo or rice
1 boullion cube
1 can chopped tomatoes
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
2 cloves garlic, diced

Cook the cabbage, half the onion, and chopped bacon together with 1 c. water, about 20 min. or until cabbage is tender. Add tomatoes and spices, simmer another 10 min. Bake the potato, remove the skin, chop, add to soup. Add the remaining vegetables. Pre-cook the orzo slightly (about 5 min. in 2 c. hot water) with the bouillon, then add to soup. Simmer half an hour, until fully cooked. Serve with biscuits.
