latest distractions
As though I really needed any distractions these days.
Not really recent, but a pleasant way to kill 10-15 minutes 3-4 times a day: Legend of the Green Dragon is a web-based remake of a classic BBS game. I play here.
More recent and more productive: Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia which encourages (useful) contributions from users. There’s a “translation” into “simple” English that’s really quite in need of some help – less than a thousand articles (compared to >500,000 for the regular English version), most of which need further editing. It’s amazingly difficult to explain things completely and accurately in “simple” English (under 8th grade level or so) – I’m gaining a whole new respect for writers of kids’ textbooks. It’s also a lot of fun.
