Mmmm, Vicodin.
The dentist/tooth thing went just fine this afternoon. Filled out the new patient papers while sitting in the chair waiting for the local to kick in. The local was all I got, too – although I did get a dozen shots or so over the entire right side of my mouth. (Ow. Before today, the shots were really the most dental pain I’d ever had, I think.) No nitrous, no general, no conk on the head with a rubber mallet.
Wound up getting two taken out, the top one was easy but the bottom one took more tugging. That hurt. I did take off my glasses to avoid looking at what went into my mouth; felt like a modified strap wrench or something. Felt really odd for the first hour or so after it was all done, I think mostly because everything was so numb, except my tongue.
Four hours after… the local’s definitely worn off and I’m not real sure the hydrocodone is doing everything I wish it did. Not that I wanna try the control experiment for how well it’s working. Time for another fudgesicle!
Update: I have to say the pills are doing some kind of good – Vicodin actually made “Friends” and “Dude Where’s My Car” funny.
For the really really curious: picture of the teeth.
