Whew!
Jul 31st 2005WallabyGeneral & nerd alert
Busy week… it’s now about four and a half months (and counting) until I defend, and I’ve finally gotten my experiment working. (Mostly, anyway.) My advisor’s out of town this weekend though, having pushed me all week for a couple figures’ worth of new data to show off. After about 50 hours in three days, I wound up with 200,000 spectra of… lipids. Probably. Definitely not bone, though, so no new figures for his talk. But the mechanical part works, and it’s almost fast enough; we’ve got ways to improve the spectra; so there’s hope.
Got tickets yesterday, to fly down to Raleigh over Labor Day. First time seeing her since New Years’, and first time spending time together as “together”. So far we’re going to the zoo with her brother and his family, her church on Sunday, and probably a science museum. And dinner at Red Lobster (“our” restaurant by a long tradition of winding up there by default when we were going out but not actually dating except in my head).
That’s right after I move apartments one last time — this makes eight addresses in six years. Have to do it on a Monday, too, which is gonna be fun.
Still to be scheduled — data meeting, defense, one more summer camping trip (Canada?), a trip “up north” (UP), and moving to Raleigh (hopefully), or wherever else I find a postdoc. Which is also to do.
I feel tired again already.
One Response to “Whew!”
Moving…I know what you mean – when I was in school I moved 2-3 times a year.
