Tomorrow: Presenting my research at this little mini-conference thing run by the agency that’s funded my postdoc. Good job/networking opportunity? Maybe, if it goes well. (Otherwise, it will be a *bad* place to try for job leads.)
Just found out that Freeman Dyson is going to be the keynote speaker tomorrow.
I really hope he’s not going to come to the afternoon talks. I’m not sure I’m ready to deal with questions from Freeman Dyson. Then again, Wikipedia quotes him as saying “You can’t possibly get a good technology going without an enormous number of failures. It’s a universal rule.” He’ll be VERY impressed with me!
Better go look over my slides one more time…
