If all of these “____ Citizens for Science” organizations really want to make sure that students are taught real, proven science - rather than convenient fictions added for drama and excitement - then they have a very obvious target: The notion that spaceships need engines to stay in orbit.
That’s a concept that is obviously wrong, and yet tacitly supported by nearly every science fiction TV show out there. And, unlike Darwinism, can interfere with students’ ability to do actual science.
Whether it’s true or not is irrelevant - it’s not required for doing medicine, or biology, or any other kind of science. Newton’s Laws are a lot more essential - and useful!
So instead of opposing “academic freedom” bills, out of concern that students might hear evidence against Darwinism, Concerned Citizens really ought to oppose SciFi channel…
